Brand Kit — Future of NYC Design 2026, logo and font downloads for social mentions

Brand Kit · v1.0

Brand
Assets.

Logos, fonts, colors, hashtags, and ready-to-post copy for mentioning Future of NYC Design 2026 anywhere — Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, your newsletter, your slide deck. Free to use, attribution appreciated. If you're press, the press kit has more boilerplate.

Naming

Spell it right.

Small thing, but it adds up across hundreds of mentions. Here's the canonical phrasing.

Use

  • Future of NYC Design — full name, NYC capitalized.
  • Future of NYC Design 2026 — with year for the event.
  • Design × AI × Culture — the tagline (use ×, not x or X).
  • May 16, 2026 — date format (no st/nd/rd suffix).
  • Brooklyn, NY — location reference.

Avoid

  • Future of New York Design — use NYC, not "New York."
  • Future of NYC Design Conference — "Conference" is redundant.
  • FoND, FoNYCD — no abbreviations or acronyms.
  • 5/16, May 16th — not the canonical format.
  • Design x AI x Culture — use multiplication sign ×.

Tone of Voice

How we sound.

Direct. Slightly editorial. Warm but not cute. We say what something is and skip the throat-clearing. Em-dashes do real work; hashtags don't carry meaning.

Sounds like us

  • Plain-spoken — "a one-day conference," not "an immersive experiential journey."
  • Pointed claims — we have a thesis and we say it.
  • Em-dashes for rhythm — not commas, not parentheses.
  • Italics, sparingly, for emphasis or session names.
  • "Working day" · "the room" · "what we shipped" — built, not staged.
  • Specific over abstract — name the people, places, and times.

Doesn't sound like us

  • "Unleash" · "synergize" · "reimagine" · "leverage" · "ecosystem."
  • "AI-powered" as a stand-alone descriptor — what does it do?
  • Exclamation points. We're confident, not enthusiastic.
  • Emoji in body copy. Hashtags only where they're functional.
  • "Join us for an unforgettable evening of..." — tell them what's actually happening.
  • All-caps sentences. Bebas Neue handles caps; the prose shouldn't.

In the wild — the voice in three lines

Anchor line

The future of design isn't human vs machine. It's human without machine literacy getting left behind.

What it is, plain

A one-day conference on Design × AI × Culture. Three programming blocks, a hackathon, workshops, portfolio reviews, evening reception. May 16, Brooklyn.

Built, not staged

A working day for the people closing the gap between design and machine literacy — not a vendor showcase. The program was community-curated; sessions were selected from open submissions, not paid-in.

Logo

The mark.

An abstract sunburst. Use the white-on-dark version on dark backgrounds, the black mark on light, and the full-color JPG when neither works.

Wordmark & Lockup

When you need words.

The mark stands alone in most contexts. When you need the name visible — partner decks, headers, signage — pair it with the wordmark in Bebas Neue. Two approved lockups: horizontal and stacked.

Lockups — mark + wordmark, single file

When you need both the icon and the name in one file — partner decks, signage, headers. Spacing is locked: don't break them apart.

Spec: Bebas Neue Regular · tracking +20 (0.02em) · outlined to paths so they render anywhere without needing the font installed. Color matches the mark (white on dark, black on light). In the horizontal lockup, the gap between mark and wordmark equals the mark's height × 0.25.

Logo Usage

Keep it breathing.

Maintain clear space equal to roughly 25% of the logo's height on all sides. Don't recolor the mark, don't stretch it, don't put it on noisy photography. Simple rules — the SVG handles the rest.

Do

  • Use the SVG whenever possible — it scales infinitely.
  • Put the white mark on dark backgrounds, the black mark on light.
  • Give the logo at least 25% of its own height as clear space.
  • Tag @futureofnycdesign when you post.

Don't

  • Don't recolor the mark — black on light, white on dark.
  • Don't stretch, rotate, or skew it.
  • Don't put it directly on busy photography without a backdrop.
  • Don't add drop shadows, outlines, or effects.
  • Don't use the mark smaller than 32px on screen or 12mm in print.
